1. Acceptance

By using this website you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site. Making an enquiry or a booking also means you accept the booking terms below on behalf of everyone in your party.

2. About the information on this site

We take care to keep itineraries, inclusions and prices accurate, but this website is promotional material rather than a contract. Prices, departure dates and itinerary details can change, and the version confirmed to you in writing at the time of booking is the one that applies.

Distances and journey times shown on tour pages are approximate. Mountain and island routes in particular depend on weather, road and sea conditions.

3. Enquiries, quotations and bookings

An enquiry through this website, by e-mail, by telephone or on WhatsApp is a request for information and does not reserve anything. A booking exists only once we have confirmed it to you in writing and received the payment we have asked for.

The payment schedule, the amount payable to confirm your booking and the date the balance falls due are set out in your booking confirmation, as they vary between departures and destinations.

4. What your tour price covers

The inclusions and exclusions for each tour are listed on that tour’s page and repeated in your booking confirmation. Anything not listed as included is excluded — typically personal expenses, meals beyond those stated, entry tickets, camera fees, adventure and water-sports activities, and travel insurance.

5. Cancellations, changes and refunds

If you need to cancel or change a confirmed booking, tell us in writing as soon as possible. Cancellation charges depend on how close to departure you cancel and on what our suppliers have already committed on your behalf; the scale that applies to your booking is stated in your booking confirmation.

Where a refund is due it is paid to the person who made the booking, by the same method the payment was received.

We may cancel a departure that does not reach its minimum group size, or where circumstances beyond our control make it unsafe or impossible to operate. In that case we will offer you an alternative departure or a refund of what you have paid us.

6. Permits, identity documents and eligibility

Several of our destinations are subject to entry rules set by the authorities, not by us. Arunachal Pradesh requires an Inner Line Permit for Indian citizens and a Protected Area Permit for foreign nationals. Identity documents are required in the Andaman Islands and in parts of Jammu & Kashmir.

You are responsible for holding valid identity documents and, where applicable, a valid passport and visa, and for giving us accurate details in time for us to apply for permits. We cannot refund a tour missed because a permit was refused or a document was not provided in time.

7. Health, fitness and high altitude

Some itineraries reach high altitude — Sela Pass on the Tawang route is around 13,700 feet, and parts of Sikkim and Himachal are comparably high. Please tell us at the time of booking about any medical condition or mobility limitation that may affect your travel, so that we can advise you honestly about whether an itinerary is suitable.

We strongly recommend comprehensive travel and medical insurance for every traveller. Insurance is not included in our tour prices.

8. Changes to your itinerary while travelling

Mountain roads close, passes hold snow, sea crossings are cancelled and permits are occasionally withheld at short notice. Where this happens our tour manager will arrange the closest reasonable alternative. Changes of this kind are not a breach of contract and do not by themselves give rise to a refund, though we will always pass on any saving we actually make.

9. Conduct

Our tours travel in groups and often in sensitive border and tribal areas. We ask you to respect local customs, the instructions of your tour manager and the rules of the places you visit. We may, without refund, end the participation of anyone whose behaviour puts others at risk or seriously affects their enjoyment.

10. Our responsibility

We arrange and coordinate the services described in your itinerary. Where those services are delivered by independent suppliers — hotels, transport operators, railways, airlines and activity providers — we select them with care but do not control their day-to-day operation.

We are not liable for loss, delay or damage caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including weather, natural events, road or airport closures, strikes, civil unrest, epidemics or acts of government. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.
